Active York represents an exciting opportunity for York's sports clubs and facilities to share information and create new opportunities through collaborative work.

Could there however be a more informal element where, for example, grassroots necessities such as playing kits, expertise(!?) and equipment that can be loaned out on a short or long term basis be centrally logged (with Active York) such that a strugglingexpanding club can make use of it?

This question is not without its own case study. The York University underwater hockey (Octopush) team are currently attempting to establish a public club to run independantly of them, however despite the organiser of the previous public team knowing that a large amount of Octopush equipment was kept at the Barbican centre, the council have been unable to assist in their enquiries and disappointingly it appears they may have now have to give up on recovering it.



Is this kind of enquiry something that Active York should present itself as a contact for? if York's clubs saw the short-term value that Active York can be, would it be increasingly likely that more clubs and individuals might become more actively involved for its long term opportunities?
