In York, we have over 300 voluntary sports clubs catering for 32 different sports. They are the life blood of our communities and provide opportunities for people of all ages to participate in sport on a regular basis. Active York recognises the huge contribution that clubs, coaches and volunteers make to developing and sustaining community sport and we hope that the information and useful contacts contained in this section will support this great work.
The section contains information on setting up a club, running a club, funding, club accreditation and developing your facilities. We have also included useful contacts and links to other organisations and agencies that also provide support and information for sports clubs.
If you have any questions relating to the support that Active York can give you in developing your club or you would like to make suggestions about any additional information this section could provide, please contact Neil Gulliver, Community Leisure Officer (club development and community sport) at the City of York Council.
Neil can be contacted on 01904 553432 or 07767 318032 or by e-mail
