The Executive Board of Active York determines and oversees the strategic direction of the partnership. It provides specialist expertise, advice and leadership through a range of professionals and experienced volunteers, and is responsible for both target setting, and monitoring/evaluating progress towards the LSP targets and regional and nationally recognised outcomes.

The Executive Board broadly represents the sport and active leisure community within the city. Members are annually block selected from within their own representative sector each year at the AGM. Each member brings to the partnership a breadth of skills, expertise, experience and commitment, in order to contribute to the strategic development of sport and active leisure in York.

Through its constitution, the Executive Board also has the opportunity to co-opt additional members. This allows Active York to benefit from the experience and expertise brought by individuals within the city, who may otherwise fall outside of the sector representation.
