Free swimming for under 16's and over 60's
Written by sport and active leisure officer

A fantastic opportunity to swim for free at public sessions is being offered to residents and visitors to York.

Both of the City's council operated pools are taking part in a new national initiative to encourage the over 60's and under 16's to get wet and have some fun and exercise! Edmund Wilson and Yearsley swimming pools will open their doors from April 1st this year. (When Edmund Wilson swimming pool closes in October 2009, then free swimming will transfer to the new swimming pool which is currently being built at Oaklands Sports Centre.)

Taking up the offer is easy - all you need to do is fill in an application form and return it to one of the swimming pools or Oaklands Sports Centre by post or in person.
